Joy To The World for percussion ensemble is arranged for a large, 13 player ensemble, but can also be performed with as few as 10 players. After a short intro performed by the entire ensemble, the main "Joy To The World" descending scale is a solo for the chimes, then the ensemble joins back in for the remainder of the melody. After a repeat of the melody, the drums are featured, followed by some melodic play over the melody on the mallet percussion instruments. The entire ensemble plays through the melody again with a repeat of the last section for the big ending.
